What is IELTS?
IELTS stands for International English Language Test is designed to measure your English Language skill. Passing the IELTS test helps prospective student’s study abroad in English-speaking universities. Taking the IELTS General Test helps migrate to English as the native language. The IELTS Examination will assess your ability to listen, read, write, and speak in English. The IELTS score is graded on a scale of 1-9.
Classmate offers IELTS tutoring with special emphasis on each module. The student will be first assessed for his weakness & then maximum emphasis would be laid to improve on the weakness besides providing good practice on other modules as well.
Reading
Duration of IELTS Reading Test is 60 minutes. There are 40 questions and they are divided in 3 sections. Each question carries one mark. There is no extra time provided to transfer the answers from the booklet to answer sheet.
Writing
Duration of IELTS Writing Test is 60 minutes. There are 2 tasks. In Task 1, you are required to write at least 150 words and for Task 2 write 250 words. Task 2 is twice as important as Task 1. You are advised to spend 20 minutes for Task 1 and 40 minutes for Task 2.
Speaking
Duration of IELTS Speaking Test is 11 to 14 minutes. There are 3 parts in speaking. Part 1 is introduction. In this part, examiner will introduce himself and confirm your identity. Then examiner will ask questions about some familiar topics. Part 2 is Cue card and Part 3 is follow up questions.
Listening
Duration of IELTS Listening Test is 30 minutes. There are 4 sections and each section contains 10 questions. You will answer 40 questions and each question carries 1 mark. After the test 10 minutes are provided to transfer the answers from booklet to answer sheet.
Writing Test Sample 1:
Task 1:
You have forgotten a package at the bus stop. Write a letter to bus stop authorities. You should say:
- What the package was
- Where you could have forgotten it
- Ask where you can collect it from
Task 2:
Some youngsters continue living with their parents even till the age of 30. What can be advantages and disadvantages of that trend. Give examples from your experience.
Writing Test Sample 2:
Task 1:
Your friend recently moved to the same town where you live. Please write a letter to invite your friend to go to the gym together. In your letter:
- Describe why you go to this gym
- Say what part of this gym you recommend
- Explain why you think it is suitable for your friend
Task 2:
In your city problems related to overpopulation are becoming more common. Some governments are now encouraging businesses & individuals to move out of cities to rural areas. Do the advantages of this trend outweigh the disadvantages? Give examples from your own knowledge & experiences.
Writing Test Sample 3:
Task 1:
You want to go for an international trip. Write a letter to your boss regarding the same. You should add:
- Why you want to go, specify the details
- How will you keep in touch?
Task 2:
Some people like to live at one place for whole life, while others like to change places. Write both views & your opinions.

-And explain how you felt about it
6) Describe a course that impressed you a lot
You should say
-what the course was about
-where you took the course
-what you did during the course
-And explain why it impressed you a lot
7) Describe a thing that you learned from older people
You should say
-what the skill is

-how you learned it
-And explain how you felt about it
8) Describe a program/app in your phone
You should say
-what the app is

9) Describe a place you visited but it was affected by pollution

10) Describe a time you got up early
